The region is located in the heart of Belarus, in the south-east of the Minsk region. This is the only district in the republic whose name does not coincide with the name of its administrative center. It was formed on July 17, 1924 with the center in the town of Pukhovichi, but a year later the administration was moved to Maryina Gorka, a village with greater potential and a more favorable geographical location. There are many architectural and natural attractions in the area. Fans of event tourism should definitely go to the ethnographic complex "Dudutki", the estate "Dukorsky maentak".
