The memorial complex was opened in 2009 near the village of Snezhkovo and consists of boulders with memorial plaques bearing the names of settlements that have gone down in history for a number of reasons – due to the enlargement of settlements, the construction of the Viley Reservoir, the tragic events of the Great Patriotic War. One of the stones has the appearance of a fallen bell and symbolizes the villages that suffered the fate of Khatyn – there are five of them in the area. In the center there is a 25-ton boulder with a call to stop and think about your roots, the places where you were born.
