The history of the Trinity Church is directly connected with the name of one of its representatives – Mikhail Kazimir Cocell. The legend tells that once his family went from Benitsa to Oshmyany. Suddenly the horses reared up and rushed forward, carrying his little daughter in the cart. The nobleman realized that he would not be able to catch up with the horses, fell to his knees and began to ask God for help — and the horses miraculously slowed down until they stopped altogether. Mikhail Kazimir’s daughter was not injured. The grateful father promised to build a temple on the place where the cart stopped — and he kept his word. The construction was completed in just three years. Mikhail Kazimir gave the church to the Bernardines and gave money for the construction of a monastery next to the church.
