The ancient settlement “Zamechak” is the most ancient archaeological monument of Zaslavl. This place is popularly called “Rogneda’s Grave”. The small platform has a round shape and is surrounded by a moat and an earthen rampart. Excavations have shown that in the X century there was a fortified castle town here. This was the same chronicle city that Vladimir built for Rogneda and Izyaslav. The kurgan burial ground of the late X-early XII century belongs to the ancient city – the largest burial ground of the Old Russian period in Belarus. In 1992, a memorial sign in the form of a stone cross was installed on it.
