Krupshchyna is the birthplace of the pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, holder of three Orders of Lenin and many other high awards, Colonel-General of Aviation, Professor Vladimir Kovalenko. The cosmonaut was born in the village of Beloe, studied at the school of the village of Khotyukhovo, which now bears the name of Vladimir Vasilyevich Kovalenko. 40 years ago, a school interactive museum dedicated to the cosmonaut pilot was opened here. The museum presents more than 200 exhibits on space topics, including family photos of Vladimir Kovalenko, photographs from his school life, memories of fellow villagers, classmates, personal belongings of the cosmonaut. Here is a model of the house created by students, in which the future cosmonaut was born and grew up.
