The monument of wooden architecture was built in 1894, 10 km from the district center in the small village of Khudovtsy. In 1888, Emperor Alexander III and his family were involved in a terrible accident. The train derailed, twenty people were killed then, but the royal family was not injured. In memory of this, this church was built on the donations of parishioners. It also survived during the war. They say that the Germans once wanted to take the golden cross from the dome, tore it out and threw it to the ground, but it miraculously disappeared somewhere…
