The future writer spent his childhood and youth in the village of Timkovichi. Here he graduated from a two-grade school, worked in the department of public education, worked as a teacher. The museum was created in 1962 by teachers and students of the Timkovichi secondary school, under the leadership of the former director of the school, Honored teacher of schools of the BSSR Z. I. Romanenko. At first, the museum was a school museum, and in 1993 it was given the status of a state museum and a new exhibition was created. It is located in five halls and comprehensively reveals the creative personality of Kuzma Chorny-a novelist, publicist, playwright, pamphleteer.
