Mount Dzerzhinskaya is considered the highest point in Belarus. It is located 30 kilometers from Minsk, near the city of Dzerzhinsk, on the outskirts of the village of Skirmantovo, and rises 345 meters above sea level.
In the old days, mountains were often places of worship for people – it was on the hills, as a rule, that communication with the gods took place. Dzerzhinskaya Mountain was no exception, it was called Holy, before it was renamed in 1958. In May 2023, a new architectural sign was opened at the highest point of Belarus”The Banner of the Motherland”.
