The lake is located in a forest on a semi-dried swamp. According to legend, an ancient pagan temple was once located on the site of the lake. Later, an Orthodox monastery was built in its place, but even after the adoption of Christianity, local residents continued to pray to pagan gods. The abbess, the founder of the monastery, tried her best to eradicate paganism. But one night the monastery fell into the ground, and in its place there was a Wild lake. Some say that on a quiet night in the vicinity of the lake, you can hear the ringing of bells.
