The new museum building was opened in the village of Smilovichi in 2019 on the eve of the 200th anniversary of the composer. Numerous exhibits of the museum preserve the memory of the life and work of “Slavic Schubert”, the creator of the first Belarusian and first Polish national opera. Many exhibits were transferred to the museum from the Warsaw and Poznan Opera houses, for example, the original costumes from the productions of the operas “Halka”, “Pariah” and “Countess” of the 1930s.
